C.V. Starr Lecturers of Law (2018-2019)
The School of Transnational Law, in Shenzhen, China, is the only law school that offers a dual Juris Doctor in common law and Juris Master in Chinese law program. The School is now recruiting C.V. Starr Lecturers of Law for a term from late July 2018 through June 2019. Lecturers primarily teach in the School’s first-year legal research and writing program but will also have the opportunity to teach a 1-credit course of their design.
Lecturers teach small interactive classes, provide guidance and feedback to students, and design lesson plans and research and writing problems. Lecturers collaborate with one another to create lesson plans and draft research and writing problems. Lecturers also participate in the life of the faculty, including faculty workshops, meetings, admissions interviews, and theses defense panels. Lecturers receive housing, comprehensive medical insurance, transportation to and from their country of origin, and support for professional development. Candidates must possess a JD degree. The ability to speak Mandarin is helpful for living in Shenzhen but not necessary.
