Christian Pangilinan is Senior Lecturer of Law. He holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, an M.A. from the University of York and a B.A. in English from the University of British Columbia. He previously served as STL’s Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs from 2016-2023 and, previously, as Director of Transnational Legal Practice and Academic Support from 2015-2016. Before coming to STL, he provided legal aid to refugees and asylum seekers in Tanzania with and worked with LL.M. students at Georgetown University Law Center.
He has interned with the Asia Foundation’s Law and Human Rights Unit, the American Civil Liberties Union National Prison Project, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, among others, and was a member of the Street Law and the D.C. Law Students in Court Clinics. In addition to teaching Legal Analysis, Writing, and Research, he advises moot court teams and develops academic support programming for STL students. He has previously taught International Refugee and Migration Law and the Transnational Legal Practice Seminar.
