On 13 December 2024, Professor Danny Friedmann presented at the symposium "The Future of US-Asia/World Economic Relationship following the 2024 US Presidential Election," held at the campus of Keio University in Tokyo. Professor Friedmann discussed the divergence between the US and China regarding copyright standards for AI-generated content; and convergence in the context of search algorithms.
The event was jointly organized by Keio University Law School and the University of Washington, School of Law. Professor Friedmann was in a panel moderated by Professor Xuan-Thao Nguyen (University of Washington), with Prof. Rikako WATAI (Keio University), and Kazuhide UENO (Partner TMI Associates), with Dongsheng ZANG (University of Washington) serving as the commentator.
