On September 29, Professor Gilad Abiri, Associate Professor of Law at Peking University School of Transnational Law and Co-Director of STL’s Program on Law & Innovation, participated in the 2025 Fudan University – Singapore Management University Forum on AI, Digital Governance & Sustainable Societies in Shanghai.

Professor Abiri delivered a keynote address on “Regulating for AI Legitimacy”, emphasizing that beyond technical alignment, AI governance must address questions of rightful authority, transparency, and public trust.
He also joined leading international scholars and practitioners in Panel 1: “AI x Governance: Co-Evolution, Tensions, and Synergies for Social Good,” where he contributed legal and normative perspectives on how societies can ensure that AI advances inclusion and sustainability.

The forum brought together distinguished academics and industry leaders to exchange insights on the global governance of artificial intelligence and to chart pathways towards more resilient and inclusive digital futures.
