A single day together is short, yet it is enough for a seed of legal ambition to find soil to grow in. May the warmth you felt and the answers you gathered at PKU Shenzhen become the confidence you carry on the road to your goals. STL's doors are always open to you, and we look forward to meeting you again at PKU Shenzhen.
On September 19, the Peking University School of Transnational Law (STL) held its Open House for Fall 2027 graduate admissions. Students who dream of studying law came to Shenzhen and stepped into PKU Shenzhen, getting a comprehensive view of STL's teaching philosophy and campus life through a full day of in-depth conversations.

In the morning, students arrived and signed in at the STL lobby. Admissions officers greeted each student with a name tag and a special gift bag.
The Open House formally opened with an introduction to the school from Associate Dean Mao Shaowei.

Professor Mao first walked the audience through STL's educational philosophy and its history. He noted that STL offers a distinctive program design, an all-English teaching model, and training in more than one legal tradition. Since its founding in 2008, the school has stayed true to its mission of cultivating bridge-building professionals who understand international rules and of supplying high-caliber talent for the field of foreign-related rule of law.
On the school's vision for admissions, Professor Mao said the school values diverse backgrounds and keeps its doors open to students from across the world and all majors. STL hopes that, in a soil enriched by diverse backgrounds, it can help students grow, in an international setting, into foreign-related legal professionals with outstanding expertise.

Students then toured the residential area and the Student Activity Center in PKU Shenzhen. Walking through living spaces and recreational areas gave them a direct sense of what living conditions and campus life outside the classroom will look like.

In the afternoon, the school invited current students to share their experiences: Chen Huilin (Class of 2024), Lin Songxuan (Class of 2024), Zhan Jiayi (Class of 2025), Li Yanying (Class of 2026), and Zhao Wenlei (Class of 2026). They talked about preparing for the entrance exam, adjusting to life after enrollment, and their genuine experience of studying under two legal systems. Questions from the audience covered coursework pressure, student clubs, and exam preparation. The senior students answered each one patiently, easing worries with their own firsthand experience.

Assistant Dean Zhang Chenli then spoke about career choices for law students and STL's career support system. He analyzed current trends in the legal industry, helping students build a big-picture understanding of possible career paths, and introduced the career development resources and alumni network the school provides. Professor Zhang stressed that STL cares not only about students' academic growth but also about empowering their long-term careers. With a strong alumni network and ongoing career support, STL hopes every graduate will find their own place in the legal field and achieve a unity of personal fulfilment and social contribution.
