Peking University Transnational Law Review Publishes Volume 2, Issue 1

CONGRATULATIONS!

Peking University Transnational Law Review has published its first issue of volume 2. This issue covers a broad area of law, including several articles and a speech.

The articles include Professor Preston M. Torbert’s writing on the risks of contract ambiguity, Professor Linda Silberman and Professor Maxi Scherer’s writing about how courts respond to forum shopping and post-award judgments in international arbitration context, with the Chinese version translated by our editors, and Ms. Hathcock’s writing on a comparative study of the legal education in former East Germany and modern U.S.

The Speakers’ Series includes Mr. Florian Grisel’s speech on how precedents in investment arbitration influence compound interest decision in following arbitrations. The speech was given at Peking University School of Transnational Law (“STL”) last year.

The students’ theses featured in this issue are written by two graduates of STL. Ms. Fei Jieqiong demonstrates the interplay between WTO law and national laws by analyzing the double counting issues arising from the United States antidumping and countervailing duties against China. Ms. Fu Chenyuan discusses resolution mechanism for disputes arising out of Chinese outward oil investment cases.

You may access the digital version of this issue through our website, or through various databases like HeinOnline, Lexis China, and Chinalawinfo. In the near future, Peking University Transnational Law Review will be available and accessible on Westlaw, LexisNexis, CNKI and other databases.

We hope the new issue makes a positive contribution to the legal scholarship, both domestic and international. You may send any comments to lawreview@stl.pku.edu.cn.
