STL Alumni Zhang Cunyuan is Appointed as SIAC New Chief Representative in China

Recently, the Singapore International Arbitration Center (SIAC) announced the appointment of Peking University School of Transnational Law 2015 alumni, Mr. Zhang Cunyuan, as the chief representative and deputy director of China. His position will be based in Shanghai. Mr. Zhang Cunyuan will be responsible for coordinating SIAC’s activities in China.

SIAC was formally created in 1991. It is an independent non-profit organization. As a global arbitration institution, SIAC provides economic and efficient case-management services for parties from all over the world. It aims to promote the development of international arbitration and global best practices. In March 2016, SIAC set up a representative office in Shanghai, China. The establishment of the representative office is an important part of SIAC's long-term commitment to establishing close ties with China's international arbitration community.

Zhang Cunyuan graduated from Peking University School of Transnational Law in 2015. Before joining SIAC, Cunyuan worked in the dispute resolution department of ZhongLun, a leading law firm in China. His work focused on arbitration.

Asked about his study life in STL and his career development after graduation, alumni Zhang Cunyuan said, “STL's legal education has benefited me a lot. The moot court I participated in during the school made me discover my professional interests and influenced my future career choices.” STL is proud to have contributed to the accomplishments of its graduated and wishes them all the best.
