Qingping Kong

Associate Professor of Law, Shenzhen University Law School

Kong Qingping is an associate professor at Shenzhen University Law School. He graduated from Zhongnan University of Law and Economics in 1993 with a LLB degree, from PKU Law School in 1999 with a LLM degree and 2003 with a Ph.D in Law degree respectively. When he was a Ph.D student, he was one of the founders and editors of the first student-edited law journals in China, Peking University Law Review. He was a visiting scholar of Columbia Law School in 2013-2014. Prof. Kong teaches Chinese Legal History, Jurisprudence (i.e. Legal Theory), Legal Thoughts of China, Legal Thoughts of the West. Prof. Kong’s research interests are mainly comparative legal history, especially in the history of Chinese law in 20th century, and legal philosophy. Prof. Kong is one of the leading scholars of Chinese legal history.
