Joel is a former Law Clerk to the Hon. Charles H. Tenney (U.S.D.J., S.D.N.Y.) and AV peer-review rated litigator at Dentons. Joel represented clients in both Federal and state courts at the trial and appellate levels.Among significant rulings and verdicts obtained: a New Jersey appellate court ruling affirming a trial court decision exonerating his client based upon a lack of alleged corporate successor liability; a New York trial decision remitting a $13 million jury trial verdict by nearly 60%, and obtaining a jury defense verdict on behalf of a client after being called in to represent the client after the trial had already commenced.
Joel teaches in law and business schools primarily at his home institution Reichman University, Herzliya, Israel. He has taught, lectured, and presented at conferences in Asia, Europe, and both North and South America focusing on corporate governance, international economic law, securities regulation, and sanctions.
Joel has published over 50 journal articles and book chapters and is currently editing a book on international economic law.
