  • Xiaoya (Sylvia) Qiu earned her J.D. from University of Toronto, Faculty of Law. During law school, she spent one year working as a student caseworker at the Refugee and Immigration Division of Downtown Legal Services, providing innovative legal services for low income clients. As an avid mooter, she participated in the 2019 Willms & Shier Environmental Law Moot in Canada, in the 27th Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot virtually and coached for the Canadian Competition Law Moot. Prior to law school, she earned her Masters of Arts in Criminology from the University of Toronto, and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from University of California, Los Angeles.
