The Jessup International Law Moot Court competition is the largest, oldest and best-known mooting competition in the world. Organized by the International Law Students Association, with participants from over 700 law schools in more than 100 countries. The Jessup moot simulates a fictional dispute before the International Court of Justice (the judicial organ of the United Nations) concerning issues of public international law. One team is allowed to participate from every eligible school. Teams prepare oral and written pleadings arguing both the applicant and respondent positions of the case.
