Professor Francis G. Snyder Honored as Most-Cited Chinese Researcher for Two Consecutive Years

Professor Francis G. Snyder listed on the “2023 Most Cited Chinese Researchers” by one of the largest global publishers of scholarly journals Elsevier, marking his second consecutive year receiving the honor.

Professor Snyder is a C.V. Starr Professor of Law of Peking University School of Transnational Law (STL), co-director of Centre for Research on Transnational Law of STL, and holds EU Jean Monnet Chair ad personam. His research fields cover food safety, technical standards, anti-dumping, and EU-China relations. He has authored over 40 works and has published over 200 academic papers. He also serves as an arbitrator for the South China Branch of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration).

In 2018, Professor Snyder was honored with the Friendship Award by the Chinese government, the highest award established to recognize foreign experts who have made outstanding contributions to China's modernization and reform and opening up endeavors.

Elsevier is one of the world's largest academic journal publishers, with over 2,800 academic journals including The Lancet and Cell. The "2023 Most Cited Chinese Researchers" list gathered 5,801 scholars from 496 universities, enterprises, and research institutions, presents a comprehensive portrait of disciplinary strengths across various institutions and universities. In the field of law, a total of 10 scholars nationwide received this honor.
