Walter W. Bardenwerper

Former Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary of Towers Watson & Co.

Walter W. Bardenwerper, retired after 25 years as Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary of Towers Watson & Co. (now Willis Towers Watson; NYSE: WLTW), a global professional services firm with its Law Department deployed in eight countries, including China.  He is also an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., where he has taught mergers and acquisitions and has been active in partnership with the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University in Kaliningrad, promoting interactive law teaching in Russia.  Mr. Bardenwerper has spoken to various organizations on Enterprise Risk Management, corporate governance, professional liability and business ethics.  He received a B.A. with Honors in Economics from the University of Virginia, Phi Beta Kappa, and a J.D. from The University of Virginia Law School.  After serving as Law Clerk for United States District Judge Albert Coffrin, he began law practice at the New York-based law firm of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft.  From 1998-2012 he was a director of Professional Consultants Insurance Company, a professional liability insurance carrier.  He also served on the Board of the Association of Management Consulting Firms (AMCF) and is a director of Community Legal Services and Counseling Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
