About the Speaker:

Paul R. Goldin is professor and head of the Department of East Asian Languages and Literature at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a scholar of classical Chinese history and philosophy. His work is interdisciplinary and involves archeology, art history, linguistics, literature, and religion. He currently is finishing a book on classical Chinese aesthetics. Professor Goldin received his PhD from Harvard University in 1996.
