About the Speaker:

Francesco Gaetano Fazzi is a Manager in Financial Services at KPMG Switzerland. He is an LL.M. candidate at STL, holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Zurich, a Master in Public Policy from the National University of Singapore, and an MBA from the University of Oxford.

About the Moderator:

Mimi Zou is Chair/Professor of Commercial Law at the University of Exeter and Visiting Fellow at the University of Oxford Martin School. She graduated with BCL & DPhil degrees from the University of Oxford and law and economics first class honours degrees from the University of Sydney. Professor Zou’s research addresses commercial and employment law in relation to emerging technologies.

Lecture Summary:

The lecture will discuss the attractive but largely untapped legal environment for the Chinese private sector in Switzerland with an emphasis on the large Swiss BIT network, the China-Switzerland BIT, the China-Switzerland FTA, relevant Swiss domestic law, and current political and legal risks to Chinese investors.
