Jacob Giltaij is an associate professor of legal history at the University of Amsterdam, director of the Paul Scholten Centre for Jurisprudence at the same university, and PI of the project 'Servus. The Reception of Roman Law outside Europe'. Previously, he has held positions as a university researcher at the University of Helsinki, and a Golieb Fellow at NYU. He specializes in Roman law, particularly the Roman public law of the late Republic and early Empire.
