The STL Sustainability Innovation and Law Circle (SILC) is dedicated to the study and progress of legal and technological innovations to address contemporary and emerging challenges of sustainability, such the climate crisis, the state of the ocean and the situation of non-human animals.

SILC will bring together both internal and external thinkers and doers engaged in creative legal responses to the crises of sustainability. SILC will engage in international, transnational and comparative legal scholarship while also serving as a unique observatory on, and interpreter of, sustainability innovation and law in STL’s location, Shenzhen.

SILC hosts the STL Law & Sustainability Colloquium and the STL podcast and produces a regular newsletter, ‘SILC Nodes’, on sustainability innovation and law.

To get in touch, please contact SILC’s director, Associate Professor Stephen Minas.
