The Law Library administers the Law Library’s physical and electronic collections in the STL Building and in the Legal Research Center in the University Town Library and operates the Law Library and Library Reserve in the STL Building.
Consulting Director of the Law Library
Kara Phillips is the Consulting Law Library Director at the Peking University School of Transnational Law and the Law Library Director at Seattle University School of Law. She worked as a librarian for the Washington State Attorney General's Office, Washington State Department of Retirement Systems, University of Washington Gallagher Law Library East Asian Law Department, and Lane Powell law firm. Recipient of a Blakemore Fellowship, she studied Mandarin Chinese at the Stanford Center in Taipei, Taiwan. Ms. Phillips was a visiting scholar at the Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Law in spring 2007. She holds a B.A. in International Studies (magna cum laude), M.A.I.S. (China Studies), M.L.S., and J.D. (with honors) from the University of Washington.

Associate Director of the Law Library
Tessie Tian is the Associate Director of STL Library. She obtained her MLIS (Master of Library and Information Science) at Dominican University in the U.S. Prior to joining the STL, she worked as a Technical Services Librarian at Moraine Valley Community College for two years. Besides, she also worked as volunteering Metadata Librarian at the library of University of Illinois at Chicago and took charge of the metadata cleanup project for digital collections. Now as a law school librarian at the STL, she is responsible for resource acquisition, cataloging, collection management, and legal research to support faculty members and students’ academic needs.

Senior Officer of the Law Library
Lin Lin is the Senior Officer of STL Library. She graduated from Emporia State University (Kansas State) with a Master in Instructional Design and Technology, and another Master in Enterprise Resource Planning. As a librarian at STL, Lin is responsible for designing and updating library website, delivering library materials to users, assisting in circulation of textbooks and course materials, training and supervising student assistants.
