非常开心，也非常荣幸，能够走进北京大学国际法学院，参加今天的毕业典礼。首先，由衷感谢学院的盛情邀请。能在这样一个庄重而珍贵的时刻，和最优秀的老师、家长、青春正好的同学们相聚在这里，对我而言，是一份特别难得的缘分。
It is both a joy and a great honor to join you today at the commencement ceremony of Peking University School of Transnational Law. First and foremost, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the School for its generous invitation. To gather here at such a solemn and meaningful moment—with outstanding professors, devoted parents, and graduates in the prime of youth—is a truly precious privilege for me.
作为在法律行业行走多年的过来人，也作为大家的师姐，向圆满完成学业、顺利毕业的每一位同学，致以最热烈的祝贺，也向一路悉心栽培大家的师长、默默支持大家的家长，致以最真诚的敬意！
As someone who has spent many years in the legal profession, and also as a PKU alumna, I extend my warmest congratulations to each of you on completing your studies and graduating successfully. I also offer my deepest respect to the teachers who guided you with dedication and to the parents who supported you quietly every step of the way.
二十六年前，我和此刻的你们一样，怀揣着对未来的无限憧憬坐在毕业典礼的现场，不久后坐上南下的列车来到了深圳这个城市，加入比亚迪——这是我职业生涯的起点，也是我坚守至今的坐标。
Twenty-six years ago, I sat where you are sitting today, filled with hope and imagination for the future. Soon afterward, I boarded a southbound train to Shenzhen and joined BYD. That decision marked the beginning of my professional journey, and it remains the place to which I have dedicated my career ever since.
这些年，我亲眼见证了比亚迪从深耕电池产业、立足国内市场，一步步成长为全球新能源领域的领跑者，跻身世界500强。
Over the years, I have witnessed firsthand how BYD evolved from a company rooted in the battery industry and focused on the domestic market into a global leader in new energy technology and a member of the Fortune Global 500.
这段历程里，有产业迭代的浪潮，也有全球格局的变迁，每一步都让我对“时代”与“个人”的关系有了更深的体会。
That journey unfolded amid waves of industrial transformation and shifts in the global order. Every stage deepened my understanding of the relationship between the individual and the times in which we live.
当下的世界，正处在一个充满变革的时代。科技更新的速度、产业升级的节奏、国际规则重塑的力度，都在以前所未有的方式展开。
Today's world stands in the midst of extraordinary transformation. The pace of technological innovation, industrial upgrading, and the reshaping of international rules is unfolding on an unprecedented scale.
人工智能、新能源、数字经济……这些领域不仅在颠覆传统产业，更在重塑社会运行的规则，甚至法律的边界。
Artificial intelligence, new energy, and the digital economy are not merely disrupting traditional industries; they are redefining the very rules by which society operates—and even reshaping the boundaries of law itself.
今天的国际竞争，说到底是规则的竞争、法律的竞争，更是人才的竞争。
At its core, international competition today is competition over rules, over legal systems, and ultimately over talent.
而在座的各位，拥有中西法系功底、国际化的视野格局与专业素养，正是这个时代最需要、最稀缺的涉外法律人才。
And all of you here today—with your grounding in both Chinese and Western legal traditions, your global perspectives, and your professional training—represent precisely the kind of internationally minded legal talent this era most urgently needs.
所以今天，我想和大家聊聊：作为新时代的法律人，我们的机遇在哪里？价值是什么？又该如何担当？
So today, I would like to reflect with you on three questions: Where do the opportunities for legal professionals lie in this new era? What is our value? And what responsibilities must we shoulder?
这是属于你们的黄金时代，更是属于法律人的时代舞台。
This is your golden age—and also a defining era for legal professionals.
产业要领跑，背后必然是规则的博弈；技术要突围，最终考验的是法治能力和风险管控能力。
Whenever industries compete for global leadership, what lies beneath is always competition over rules. Whenever technology seeks breakthroughs, what is ultimately tested is the strength of legal governance and risk management.
越是高速发展的产业，越是全球化的市场，法律人的价值就越凸显、越不可替代。
The faster industries evolve and the more globalized markets become, the more indispensable legal professionals are.
可以说，你们的职业定位、责任与使命，早已深度融入社会治理、产业发展和全球博弈的每一个环节。
Your professional roles, responsibilities, and missions are already deeply embedded in every dimension of social governance, industrial development, and global competition.
从社会层面看，法律人是公共秩序的“筑路人”。
From the perspective of society, legal professionals are builders of public order.
现在新技术、新业态飞速发展，很多领域的发展节奏，已经走在了法律法规完善的前面。
New technologies and emerging industries are evolving so rapidly that many developments are already outpacing existing legal frameworks.
全球AI治理、自动驾驶与机器人安全、算法公平与数据跨境流动等，大量全新立法课题应运而生，需要我们用专业、理性和严谨，去补齐规则空白，平衡发展与安全，让科技向善、产业有序，为社会高质量发展筑牢法治根基。
Global AI governance, autonomous driving and robotics safety, algorithmic fairness, and cross-border data flows have all created entirely new legislative challenges. These demand professionalism, rationality, and rigor from legal practitioners—to fill regulatory gaps, balance innovation with security, ensure technology serves humanity, and provide a solid legal foundation for sustainable social development.
从产业层面看，法律人是行业发展的“护航者”。
From the perspective of industry, legal professionals are guardians of development.
现在中国企业出海，早已不是简单的产品贸易，而是全产业链、全规则体系的竞争。
Today, Chinese companies going global are no longer merely exporting products; they are competing across the entire industrial chains and regulatory systems.
地缘政治的波动、贸易壁垒的叠加、各国法规的差异……每一步都伴随着复杂的规则博弈。
Geopolitical tensions, growing trade barriers, and differences among national regulatory systems mean that every step forward involves complex legal and strategic negotiations.
产业往前冲的时候，需要法律人提前布局、预判风险、防控纠纷，帮企业化解诉讼危机、突破规则壁垒，让中国产业的全球化之路走得更稳、更有底气。
As industries advance, they need legal professionals who can anticipate risks, prevent disputes, navigate litigation, and break through regulatory barriers—helping Chinese enterprises move forward globally with greater stability and confidence.
从全球层面看，法律人是中外规则的“桥梁”。
From the global perspective, legal professionals are bridges between legal systems and civilizations.
在座各位拥有中美双法系背景、跨学科知识储备和国际化视野，精通国内外规则体系，这是你们得天独厚的优势。
You possess backgrounds in both Chinese and American legal systems, interdisciplinary knowledge, and international perspectives. Your familiarity with both domestic and global regulatory frameworks is an extraordinary advantage.
未来的全球法治舞台，需要大家立足中国、融通中外，在国际贸易与投资、金融与资本市场、国际争端解决、高新科技与知识产权等领域中，坚守专业立场，传递中国的法治理念，发出理性、坚定、有分量的中国声音。
The future global legal order will need professionals who can remain rooted in China while engaging confidently with the world—professionals who, in fields such as international trade and investment, finance and capital markets, dispute resolution, technology, and intellectual property, can uphold professional integrity, convey China’s legal philosophy, and contribute rational, confident, and influential Chinese voices to global dialogue.
说到这里，我想和大家分享两段亲身经历，或许能让大家更真切感受：在真实的国际法律博弈中，法律人需要怎样的核心素质。
At this point, I would like to share two personal experiences that may offer a more vivid sense of the qualities legal professionals truly need in real-world international legal competition.
2002年，是中国加入WTO的第二年，也是我入职比亚迪的第三年。
The year 2002 was China's second year after joining the WTO, and my third year at BYD.
当时，比亚迪在电池领域发展很快，市占率冲到了世界前列，没想到紧接着就遭遇了两场硬仗——全球电池巨头接连对比亚迪提起知识产权侵权诉讼。
At the time, BYD was rapidly rising in the battery industry and had already achieved a leading global market share. Then came two major legal battles: international battery giants filed consecutive intellectual property infringement lawsuits against us.
对方是经验丰富的国际企业，态度强硬，不仅索要巨额赔偿，更想直接把我们的产品挡在全球市场之外。
Our opponents were experienced multinational corporations. They demanded enormous damages and sought to exclude our products from global markets entirely.
那是我们第一次直面跨国知识产权诉讼战，没有成熟经验借鉴，面对攻势凌厉的对手，一度陷入被动。
It was our first encounter with cross-border intellectual property litigation. We had no mature precedent to rely on and initially found ourselves in a difficult and reactive position.
但我们没有退让，更没有妥协，整个团队日夜钻研法条、梳理证据、周密应诉。最终，顶住所有压力，打赢了这两场关键的官司。
But we did not retreat, nor did we compromise. Our team worked day and night studying legal provisions, organizing evidence, and preparing meticulous defenses. In the end, we withstood every pressure and prevailed in both landmark cases.
而在两场官司结束的两年后，比亚迪已经成为全球最大的电池生产商。
Just two years later, BYD became the world’s largest battery manufacturer.
如果说二十多年前的国际知识产权诉讼战，是中国企业初入市场的被动应战；那么二十多年后的今天，中国产业走向世界，面临的已是更为复杂的国际贸易格局与规则博弈。
If the international IP disputes of twenty years ago represented China's early defensive entry into global markets, then today Chinese industries face an even more complex landscape of international trade and regulatory competition.
近几年，依靠在全球市场竞争中形成的科技创新和过硬品质，中国新能源汽车在欧洲广受欢迎，也为全球汽车产业的绿色转型贡献了中国力量。
In recent years, driven by technological innovation and product quality honed through global competition, Chinese new-energy vehicles have become increasingly popular in Europe and have contributed significantly to the global green transition in the automotive sector.
2023年，欧盟首次针对中国电动汽车发起了反补贴调查，这并非普通的贸易个案。
In 2023, the European Union launched its first anti-subsidy investigation into Chinese electric vehicles. This was far from an ordinary trade dispute.
欧委会在缺乏充分事实依据的情况下，将中国新能源汽车产业发展简单归结为补贴因素，实则是为本地产业转型争取时间，为中国新能源汽车国际化发展设置市场壁垒。
Without sufficient factual basis, the European Commission attributed the development of China's EV industry primarily to subsidies. In reality, the investigation served to buy time for domestic industrial transition and erect barriers against the globalization of Chinese new-energy vehicles.
这起案件在行业内无先例可循，整个立案与调查流程突破常规，没有成熟经验可借鉴。
There was no precedent for such a case in the industry. The procedures and investigative methods broke with convention, leaving no established experience to follow.
案件应对极具挑战，欧委会提出海量材料需求，回应期限却被压缩到以小时为单位，每一个数据核实、抗辩措辞都关乎案件走向。
The process was extraordinarily demanding. The Commission requested enormous volumes of materials while imposing deadlines measured in hours. Every data point verified and every word in our submissions could influence the outcome.
历经两年的坚守，我们最终取得了有利局面。
After two years of persistence, we ultimately achieved a favorable result.
我们守住的，不只是一家企业的市场权益，更是中国新能源产业的全球发展空间、中国企业参与国际规则博弈的底气，以及中国法律人在国际法治舞台上的专业担当。
What we defended was not merely the market interests of one company, but also the global development space of China's new-energy industry, the confidence of Chinese enterprises in participating in international rule-making, and the professional credibility of Chinese legal practitioners on the world stage.
在这场国际博弈中，有几位和你们一样刚毕业的年轻人，全程深度参与其中。
In this international legal battle, several young professionals—graduates just like you—participated throughout the entire process.
他们跟着团队去不同国家和地区参与谈判、在飞机上修改抗辩文书，他们对国际政治的敏感度、谈判应变能力都在实战中飞速提升。
They traveled with the team to different countries and regions for negotiations, revised legal submissions on airplanes, and rapidly developed their instincts for international politics and high-pressure negotiations through real-world practice.
而你们在北大国际法学院打下的双语法律基础已是最硬核的敲门砖——大胆去闯，把知识摔打成解决问题的能力，未来远比想象中更广阔。
And the bilingual legal education you have received at STL is already one of the strongest foundations imaginable. Be bold. Venture outward. Forge your knowledge into the ability to solve real problems. Your future is broader than you can yet imagine.
这两段跨越二十多年的经历，让我深有感悟：顺境时的成长容易，逆境中的坚守才是真正的考验。
These two experiences, spanning more than twenty years, have taught me something deeply important: growth in times of comfort is easy; true character is forged in adversity.
当我们能够在高压下稳住心态，在困境中坚守初心，在外界质疑中坚持专业判断，那些克服过的困难、扛过的压力，都会悄悄沉淀为扎实的专业能力、开阔的国际视野和从容的人生格局。
When we learn to remain calm under pressure, stay true to our principles in difficult moments, and trust our professional judgment despite external doubts, every hardship overcome and every burden endured gradually transforms into professional strength, global perspective, and inner composure.
让我们在不知不觉中，成为更沉稳、更强大、更有担当的法律人。
And in ways we may not even notice at first, they shape us into steadier, stronger, and more responsible legal professionals.
接下来，作为师姐，我也给即将步入职场的同学们提三点建议：
As your senior alumna, allow me to offer three pieces of advice as you step into professional life.
第一，扎根业务，让法律落地。
First, stay grounded in the real world and make law practical.
法律从来不是纸上条文，而是解决实际问题的武器。
Law is never merely words on paper; it is a tool for solving real problems.
无论未来大家在律所、企业还是公职岗位，都要主动走进业务场景，读懂产业逻辑，洞察真实需求。
Whether you work in law firms, corporations, or public service, immerse yourselves in real operational contexts. Understand industry logic. Understand genuine needs.
唯有让专业扎根现实，服务产业、回应需求，才能真正实现法律人的价值。
Only when legal expertise is rooted in reality and responsive to society can its true value emerge.
第二，终身学习，跟上时代步伐。
Second, commit yourselves to lifelong learning.
科技在迭代，产业在变革，规则在更新，法律人的战场永远在移动、知识体系永远需要动态升级。
Technology evolves, industries transform, and rules constantly change. The arena for legal professionals is always shifting, and our knowledge must continuously evolve with it.
要保持敬畏之心与求知之心，主动拥抱新技术、研究新产业、掌握新规则，不断精进自己、拓宽边界，才能在时代浪潮中站稳脚跟。
Remain humble, curious, and eager to learn. Embrace emerging technologies, study new industries, master new rules, and continually expand your horizons. Only then can you stand firmly amid the tides of change.
第三，锤炼韧性，敢于直面挑战。
Third, cultivate resilience and face challenges with courage.
法律职业天然伴随着责任与压力，复杂案件、艰难抉择、不被理解的时刻，都是职业常态。
The legal profession naturally comes with responsibility and pressure. Complex cases, difficult decisions, and moments of misunderstanding are all part of professional life.
不必畏惧压力，不要回避挑战，每一次迎难而上、攻坚克难，都是在为自己积累职业底气，你的韧性，终将成为你最强大的铠甲。
Do not fear pressure, and do not avoid challenges. Every obstacle you confront and every hardship you overcome becomes a source of confidence and strength. Your resilience will ultimately become your greatest armor.
同学们，人生没有白走的路，每一步经历都算数。
Dear graduates, no step in life is ever wasted. Every experience matters.
未来你们会遇见顺境高光，也会遇到低谷迷茫；会收获认可与成功，也可能经历委屈与挫折。
In the years ahead, you will experience moments of triumph as well as moments of confusion and disappointment. You will encounter recognition and success, but also setbacks and frustration.
但请一定要相信：你付出的每一份努力、坚守的每一份初心、办结的每一起案件，都会化作前行的底气，伴你一路披荆斩棘。
But always remember: every effort you make, every principle you uphold, and every case you handle will become a source of strength that carries you forward.
也许就在明天，也许就在下个月，你们就要奔赴职场。
Perhaps tomorrow, perhaps next month, you will begin your professional journeys.
站在人生的新起点，面对未来的机遇与挑战，大家是否已经做好了迎难而上的准备呢？
Standing at this new starting point in life, are you ready to meet the opportunities and challenges ahead with courage?
亲爱的同学们，你们生逢百年变局与产业革新的黄金时代，身处中国法治建设、民族产业出海、全球规则重塑的浪潮中。
Dear graduates, you are living in a historic era of global transformation and industrial innovation—an era shaped by China's legal development, the globalization of Chinese industry, and the restructuring of international rules.
作为北京大学国际法学院培养的优秀人才，你们心怀中国、眼观世界，兼具国际视野与专业素养，正是这个时代最值得期待、最值得托付的青春力量。
As graduates of STL, you carry China in your hearts while keeping your eyes on the world. With your international outlook and professional excellence, you represent one of the most promising and trustworthy generations of young professionals this era could hope for.
“于道各努力，千里自同风”，毕业之后，大家奔赴四方、各赴前程；或许在不同的时区看日出，在不同的海岸听浪声。
“As we each strive along our own paths, though separated by a thousand miles, we share the same wind.” After graduation, you will travel to different places and pursue different futures. Perhaps you will watch sunrises in different time zones and hear waves along different shores.
但无论身在何方，愿我们都能在属于自己的赛道上坚守初心、全力以赴，也能遥遥相望、彼此呼应。
But wherever life takes you, may you remain true to your original aspirations, give your fullest effort to your own journey, and continue to inspire and support one another across distances.
最后想由衷叮嘱一句：事业重要，但身体和心情永远是第一位。
Finally, let me offer one sincere reminder: your career matters, but your health and peace of mind matter even more.
初入职场节奏快、压力大，但无论多忙，请好好吃饭、好好休息、坚持运动。
The early years of professional life can be fast-paced and demanding. But no matter how busy you become, please eat well, rest well, and continue exercising.
健康的身体和阳光的心态，才能走得更远、更稳、更精彩。
A healthy body and a positive spirit are what will allow you to go farther, steadier, and live more fully.
再次祝贺2026届全体毕业生毕业快乐、前程似锦、未来可期！
Once again, congratulations to the Class of 2026. May your futures be bright and full of promise.
