Good morning. My name is Kong jiaqi. I’m honored to be here on behalf of the graduating Class of 2024.
大家上午好，我是孔嘉琪，很荣幸能够作为2024届毕业生代表在此发言。
In 2020, we joined the School of Transnational Law (STL) during an unprecedented time in history. 2020 marked a year of trials that distinguished the Class of 2024.Together, we braved the pandemic's storm, witnessed the world's dynamic shifts, and felt the winds of deglobalization. During these times, our nation emphasized the urgency of cultivating foreign-related rule of law talents.
我们在2020年进入国际法学院（“国法”）。2020年是特殊的一年，我们2024届的学生也注定与众不同。我们共同经历了疫情的洗礼，感受了世界格局的动荡，见证了全球化逆流的涌动。在这样一个大背景下，我们国家对涉外法治人才的培养给予了前所未有的重视。
From 2020 to 2024, we were privileged to be part of a legal education within STL, an institution of foresight, innovation, and visionary leadership. It has been a gift, a lifetime trove of experiences.
在这至关重要的2020至2024年间，我们站在了国家涉外法治人才培养的潮头，在这座具有前瞻性、充满创新精神、富有远见的法学院中完成了我们的法学教育。这是我们宝贵的财富。
STL’s spirit was clear from my first day in the 2019 Summer Honors Program. As a pioneering law school in China that blends the American Common Law Juris Doctor degree and China law Juris Master’s degree, STL offers an immersive English environment and innovative Chinese legal education, with top scholars and cutting-edge courses.
当我在2019年初入国际法学院夏令营时，我就发现了国法的与众不同。首先，作为国内唯一将美国法律培养模式和我国传统的法律硕士培养模式相结合的法学院，这里有全英文沉浸式的教学环境，有创新的中国法法学教育，有来自世界各地最顶尖的教授学者，提供最前沿的课程。
STL is also a crucible of talent, where students from diverse undergraduate backgrounds come together, dedicated to law studies, brave and inquisitive. From friends with economics backgrounds, I've learned rigorous analytical thinking; from those with a law foundation, I've felt their profound understanding and passion for the law.
其次，这里汇聚了不同本科背景的优秀学子，大家求知若渴，互相学习，决心要在法学道路上坚定的向前走。我从学经济学的朋友身上学到了严谨的分析思维，从法学本科的朋友身上体会到了她对法律的深刻理解和热情。
Moreover, STL fosters an inclusive and open environment. From the administrative team and faculty to the overall ethos of the college, there's a spirit of diversity. It is an environment where disagreement is encouraged and discussion happens freely. We value rationality, effective communication, and strive for transparency and fairness. Despite being just 15 years old, STL is leading in cultivating foreign-related rule of law talents, and we're proud to be part of this voyage.
再者，这里有包容开放的环境。无论是行政团队、授课教师还是整个学院的氛围，都体现了多元和包容的精神。我们推崇理性，尊重不同的观点，倡导和而不同，通过沟通来解决问题，追求透明与公正。这样一座充满活力的学院，是一个鼓励创新和培养国际视野的平台。它还很年轻，才刚过完它15岁的生日，但是它已经走在了涉外法治人才建设的最前沿，而我们有幸成为这其中的一员。
The Class of 2024 has navigated through challenges, facing an uncertain job market. Yet, I'm convinced we can excel anywhere. Our STL education isn't just legal—it's about wisdom, critical thinking, meticulous habits, respect, and teamwork. These qualities will drive us to make our mark in any field.
我们也是在挑战中前行的一届。面对市场的波动和不稳定的环境，我们承受了一些就业的压力。但是，我坚信，无论在哪个岗位，我们都能够发光发热。因为国际法学院的教育不仅仅赋予我们法学知识，更重要的是培养了我们勤奋好学的态度、全面辩证的思维、细心谨慎的习惯、尊重谦让的精神和团队合作的能力。这些精神和能力，将使我们在任何岗位上都能大有作为。
The four-year journey at STL is a treasure box, filled with souvenirs that are reminiscent of my youth. I remember the dedicated late nights in room 110, the heart-pounding cold calls, the exhilarating mock trials, and the personal growth with each revised memo. I won’t forget the unspoken rule of always carrying a jacket in the chilly STL building, the crowded rooms for alumni lectures, and the joy of PILF auction night.
在国法的四年旅程是一个宝箱，充满了我青春的纪念品，我不会忘记这四年生活中的点点滴滴。我不会忘记每一个在国法110教室挑灯夜读的夜晚，每一次在课堂上被老师点名时的紧张与忐忑。我不会忘记一场场模拟法庭的历练，一次次文书被指导老师驳回重写的经历。我也不会忘记进入寒冷的国法大楼永远要穿一件外套的“保命秘籍”，座无虚席的前辈就业经验分享会，以及公益法律拍卖晚会时国法大楼的狂欢。
I also cherish the moments when we made time forvarious sports, becoming experts at knowing when it is best to play badminton at Mirror Lake. Our regular dashes to Tsinghua and HIT canteens for meals have become a ritual. It's no secret that their delicious food has long been the object of our envy, and we can't help but hope for a similar upgrade at Peking University's dining halls.
我同样不会忘记我们一起作为“体育生”的日子，我们对镜湖羽毛球场最佳光线时间有精准的把握。我不会忘记大家从110教室下课后，一起奔赴清华、哈工大食堂的常态。我们总是羡慕隔壁友校的食堂，也满怀期待地希望北大食堂能更上一层楼。
These memories weave our STL story, testing us, teaching us, and bringing us together, forging a legacy we carry forward.
这些宝贵的回忆串联起了我们的国法故事，考验我们，教导我们，将我们联结在一起。这些回忆都将成为未来我们在疲惫或心灰意冷时刻的灯塔，它们提醒我们，无论遇到什么困难，都有一群伙伴曾与我们并肩作战，有这段经历陪伴我们前行。
In closing, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of you who have given us unwavering support, including the resident and visiting faculty, C.V. Starr lecturers, administrative staff, my fellow classmates and supporting parents. Special thanks go to the organizing committee for this wonderful event and the opportunity to represent the Class of 2024. May we all prosper and shine, embracing a future that's truly divine.
